My very first pair of knitted socks

I had a plan to knit socks and bought a few knitted socks books too a few years back. Procrastinate a lot and never end up knitting it until now. They turn out ok and I really enjoy knitting them even though I had to unpick a bit 'cos one was shorter then the other.. lol!!  I think I was supposed to use Fingering weight yarn (4ply??) but these are knitted with 8ply. Turns out very thick but super-duper comfy and my daughter loves them :)

The pattern is called 'A Nice Ribbed Sock' by Glenna C. Free pattern is found here

Some finished stuff

Happy Go Lucky Star quilt

Fabric line is Happy Go Lucky by Bonnie and Camille. The pattern is called The Stars in Mama's Kitchen by Darlene Zimmerman, free pattern is here.

The quilt measures 72"x72". I add more blocks than original pattern :))

I did some cross hatching in the middle and some stippling FMQ on the borders.

And a couple of Lacy Waves Ponchos

I bought this pattern a few years ago and have knitted many of them. When I feel I need to finish something quick after knitting some lacy shawls using 2ply yarn using 2.75mm needle with a thousand something yards of yarn, I always go back to this poncho. So quick to knit. This poncho is knitted using 80%Bamboo 20%Marino Wool on 8mm circular needles :)

Finished Shawl

My evening shawl is finished, washed and blocked. It measures 17" x 66" without the fringes.
And I have started another shawl. I have a habit of starting new knitting project just before finishing the one I'm working on. So I have done quite a bit on this one. We are in Summer here in Perth, Australia, it is hot but I like to sit quietly and do hand-work night time instead of being noisy on my machine.

This shawl is call Icarus Shawl by Miriam Felton (on the cover of The Best of Interweave Knits). This is second time I'm knitting this shawl. I stick to the pattern on my first one and feel a bit small so I'm making this one a bit bigger. I'm using 2Ply 100% Merino Yarn with 2.75mm circular needles.

Evening Wrap

I have finished Aristida Shawl but a bit too lazy to block it. But I have started another knitting project!! I'm using 100% cotton yarn on 4mm circular needles. This pattern is so simple and easy to work with yet it's lacy. Ten stitch repeat over four pattern rows. Wrong side is all purl :)
