A Finished WIP
I made this quilt using Deb Tucker's Rapid Fire Hunter Star ruler (large star).
Blocks size: 8" finished
Fabrics: From my stash
Size: 74 1/2" x 74 1/2"
FMQ by me
I bought the ruler last year just to challenge myself with something new (new to me any way) and I love it. The top was sitting in my sewing for a bit as I wasn't up for fmq it. I'm so glad now it's all done :))
I'm donating this quilt to my girls' school, La Salle College, Middle Swan in Perth WA, for a silent auction. They have annual music night on Thursday next week so it's a perfect timing ;))

Finishing My WIPs

Size: 79" x 79"
FMQed by me
Back of the quilt.
This quilt is for my SIL's 50th :))
Have to do the label now!
Finish #2 Lantern of Light
This is what its looked like a few weeks ago, I don't have a design-wall and I lay them out on the floor to arrange the blocks. This is what happens when I don't shut the doors to the sewing/games room. Our 2 little dogs like to walk/run over my blocks :P
viola... all done :))
Pattern: Lanterns of Light by Julie Wallace
Fabric: Japanese prints from my stash
Size: 60" x 70"
This is my first QAYG quilt.
Backing fabric is directional so I cut it into strips which are length of the quilt.

Finished Quilt
I finished piecing this quilt top back in June 2014 (posted it here) but finished FMQ a few months ago and Annabelle has been using it since I finished it ;)
It is a large quilt and I was feeling defeated FMQ by it so it took me a while. I FMQ on my Bernina 750QE which has a larger throat then normal domestic machine but this quilt being so large I did struggle a little.
It all worth it though :))
These panels are included in the fatquarter bundle, Wrens and Friends, which I use for this quilt. I couldn't chop it all up to put it in the top so I try to work out how it use it. So this is how I came up with! I think it's pretty cool (at least my daughter agrees :))
