Finished Swirls and Whirls

This baby quilt is for my girls' teacher's new baby boy. The pattern is on the cover of  American Patchwork and Quilting magazine. I just use nine blocks instead so it's just nice size for the baby. The quilt measures    46 1/2" x 46 1/2"

I love the background fabric. It's called 'The ABC's of fleas by Alexander Henry, very cute!

My very first pair of knitted socks

I had a plan to knit socks and bought a few knitted socks books too a few years back. Procrastinate a lot and never end up knitting it until now. They turn out ok and I really enjoy knitting them even though I had to unpick a bit 'cos one was shorter then the other.. lol!!  I think I was supposed to use Fingering weight yarn (4ply??) but these are knitted with 8ply. Turns out very thick but super-duper comfy and my daughter loves them :)

The pattern is called 'A Nice Ribbed Sock' by Glenna C. Free pattern is found here

Finished Summer Breeze

I'm in looove with this quit right now. So happy how it turns out. The pattern is called Summer Breeze by Melissa Corry at Happy Quilting. Happy Go Lucky fabric line is just perfect for this pattern. I chuck extra border in so it measures 82"x82"

I FMQ it on my Bernina 750QE. Some pebbles and swirls. And some square in a square

Five meter backing isn't quite enough as I use some of it for the border. So this is how it turns out!

Dee Dee's quilt

This one goes to Dee Dee.

A Sewing Day

I had a sewing day at my place two Saturdays ago. It was good to catch up with my sewing ladies.
We stitch, sew, knit over coffee, tea and some cake and bikkies..

From left to right. Thelma, Lin, Cheryl and Helen

And with I

We had some show and tell from Thelma. I only took this one picture. We got carried away chatting too much :P I love this fabric line.

And this is what (bacon+eggs+veggies quiche) we had for lunch :)
